The Common Eland is a social antelope, often forming open and fluid herds of 25 to 60 animals, and occasionally bring together in groups of over 1,000, particularly during the rainy season. Eland are found in grassland, sub-desert, mountain, savannahs and plains of east and southern Africa. They distance themselves from deserts, forests and swamps. It uses loud barks, visual and postural movements and the flehmen response to communicate and warn others of danger. The Common Eland is used by humans for leather, meat and rich, nutritious milk and has been domesticated in many areas. An human populations are growing and expanding settlements and agriculture, they are encroaching on Elands’ living spaces and destroying habitats and food sources. So we should be careful to protect the Common Eland. Thanks for visit my photography and invite you to see my other contents too.
