Great Blue Heron

Hello Steemians

The great blue heron, found in most of North and Central America, except in the far North of Canada.
In Florida and the Caribbean they are white, once considered a separate species.
Being mostly grey, the pictured heron is probably a juvenile.
A long beak with orange on the bottom and black on top.
The long legs enable it to wade in the shallows and......

prey on small fish mostly, but like most animals is opportunistic and will eat amphibians or
small mammals.

It looks like a passenger plane is on its way.
This bird not only eats fish but also eats snacks as well.

Have seen them in action while catching the Snack. What they does is grab the Snack with their beak and pull the Snack out of its hole.
Them slam the Snack on hard surface like 'batista bomb' . Again again.
The Snack has very little scope to fight back. It even flys off with the Snack in its beak and then throws the Snack from sky like 'charizard around the world' attack, untill the Snack dies.

And then swallows it in no time.

I think they are so graceful until you see them flying. I always have to remember "Herons fly with a Hooked neck."

I like watching them patiently standing in the water waiting for a meal.
