The history of Khabarovsk Bandy team (part 1)

Hockey with the ball or Bandy has an interesting story.

Games on the ice of frozen ponds with sticks and various spherical objects are known in Europe (including Russia) from the Middle Ages. Bandy in its modern sensey is formed in the UK in the 18th - early 19th centuries, apparently this is due to the significant similarity of its rules to football, thanks to which bandy is sometimes called winter football or football on ice. Gradually it developed into a separate sport and spread throughout Europe.

In 1955, the International Federation of Bandy was established, which adopted the unified international rules of the game, this was the beginning of the modern stage in the development of hockey with the ball.

Today, Russia is among the world leaders in this sport. Our team (as the successor of the USSR national team) is the most titled national team in the world. Russia regularly takes the world bandy championships. The international federation of bandy is headed by the Russian, the president of the Russian federation of Bandy is Boris Skrynnik. includes 46 republican and regional regional federations and branches. In the Super League and the Premier League of the Russian Championship 39 teams from 21 subjects of the Russian Federation and one Kazakhstan team play. In Khabarovsk Territory field hockey is represented by two professional teams "SKA-Neftyanik" and "SKA-Neftyanik 2", actively engaged in this kind of sports by children and teenagers, amateurs, veterans.
