Chocolate and tea w/ Betty Doll!

Hi, Steemit. Many of you are packing your bags on the way home from Bangkok. I’m sitting here, at home, sheltering myself from the impending Minnesota winter. @tarotbyfergus and I have been exploring a new MTG format called Pioneer with great games at @caffetto, but my absence these last two days is because I’ve been writing. If you’ve read my recent post, “Closing the door!”, you’ll get the summary. I’ve been working in Scrivner a lot and it’s been so helpful in organizing my thoughts. I’m meeting with @frenchvanilla and @ghostfish tomorrow to write more.

I have new photography to share, from my trip to Melbourne, Australia. Just a couple of blocks from where I was staying in Collingwood, there was a chocolatier and high tea boutique called Mámor, and it was the shoot location for a dark pinup session with my friend Betty. I’ve been internet friends with Betty for years, and when I announced my tour through New Zealand and Australia, she was one of the very first to book. The eagerness to meet her was two fold; the shoot, and just the reality of finally meeting her on the other side of the world.

This session was a knockout from the moment we started. As Betty was changing and I was setting up my camera, Hini, the manager, approached me if we’d like some tea and fresh baked scones! These are the silver linings that make up for long hours, less pay then you’d expect, sleeping on friends’ couches, etc. Betty was everything I dreamt she would be in front of the camera. Just effortless, and the backdrop of Mámor was breathtaking for this shoot. I rarely consider a shoot “perfect”, but this day truly was. I think you’ll see that in the photos.

This is the first finished set of edits with Betty and all next week, I’ll be diving back in to my Australia and New Zealand shoots. Lots more to come. My photography hiatus is over and although I wish I could just live in Scrivner longer, I need to start turing these edits back to my patient clientele. Look for more dark pinup work tomorrow and all next week. Thanks for reading and following my blog here on Steemit. Amazing pictures again!

Bettttttyyyyy. Wow The first upload that you put up of Betty is pure class, the style, the vigor, the environment and the dress is top knotch, her makeup is equally amazing. I'm glad your hiatus is equally over hahaha.

Thanks, @josediccus. Yeah. It was a real pleasure to meet her finally, and shoot with her. The space is incredible, and after 30 minutes of shooting, they brought out the scones and tea!

Hi Lars, it is great to be able to read your writing again after a few days of your vacuum. I am also at home just like you do not follow steemfest in Bangkok. But we can see its development through several stemian posts that go there. Your model is very beautiful this time, Lars. Have a beautiful face and ideal body. Wow ... are you going to Australia and New Zealand again? I will be waiting for your post from there, sir. Have a great night.

She is very hot

She's beautiful, and such a lovely person @dharma005.

It's good to know that upon my return here your amazing photography and posts are still filling the lovely 'pages' of Steemit. It's a good feeling to come back to a place and feel it not too unchanged, like coming home.

I love that you can use warm light and shadow of faces of the models and they still look SO striking and beautiful, so painterly.

Welcome back, @donnadavisart! Yeah. I've remained pretty consistent here. Definitely proof that my existence on Steemit isn't monetarily driven. I love having a uncensored free speech platform to share my photography. It's a great outlet.

So true, my absence was purely based on time constraints, though I've never been a 'high earner' round these parts, but I promised myself to get back to online life by Autumn.
