Elon Musk's Boring Company is nearing completion of its first tunnel near SpaceX headquarters in California.

"Pending final regulatory approvals, we will be offering free rides to the public in a few months," Musk wrote. "As mentioned in prior posts, once fully operational (demo system rides will be free), the system will always give priority to pods for pedestrians & cyclists for less than the cost of a bus ticket."

Personally I cannot wait to get more information on one of the most exciting, ambitious, digging and transportation Projects in all of history...

Elon Musk's fame used to be a huge advantage for Tesla — but now it's becoming a problem

### Meanwhile... Some of the latest hard numbers on Tesla & Musk

Tesla reported first-quarter earnings and lost over $700 million in three months.
CEO Elon Musk, who is supposed to be sleeping on the floor of his factory in California, flipped out on an earnings call, silencing two analysts and taking 20 minutes of questions from a YouTuber who owns less than 100 shares of Tesla stock and pitched his insights to Musk via Twitter.
The stock tanked.

Musk got on Twitter to attack the offending analysts as instruments of short-sellers; neither has a drastically bearish view of the stock, and both have hold ratings.
The stock bounced back.

Musk warned short sellers that they were in for a world of hurt.
He then spent about $10 million of his own money— more likely obtained via loans pledged to his stake in Tesla as collateral — to buy up more Tesla shares.

Production of Tesla's Model 3 sedan continued to languish well below Tesla's previous production targets, and the company continued to throw people at the problem with 24/7 manufacturing.

Musk again declared that Tesla, spending a billion per quarter to run the business, but with just $2.7 billion in cash on hand, won't need to raise new funds in 2018

You gotta love that dude. He is a visionary like Satoshi Nakamoto once was.

What would you say if I told I thought that SATOSHI and MUSK are one in the same?

It really really would not surprise me if he wrote the BTC code

You can't rule that out. Yet, we will probably never find out.

I read about this project awhile back but didn't know they were actually going through with it, it's supposed to be a super fast method to get between the 2 cities. the concept is brilliant, of course and I hope he pulls it off and shuts up his critics who couldn't envision inventing the fly swatter. great post!

Haha - Love it @janton - I know other countries have been digging/tunneling for very similar projects or possibly Boring Co. affiliated projects but had no idea he had begun tunnelling in CA.

Musk's tunneling end game is actually multiple multiple layers of tunneling - apparently digging tunnels for vehicles has gotten a lot easier with those big a$$ machines -

As always thanks for commenting :)

my pleasure krytonika..multiple layers of tunneling? man, that sounds wild!
well if it grows it can eliminate a lot of above ground traffic congestion so it
should be interesting to see what develops and if anyone can pull it off it's
Elon Musk!

keeps fingers crossed for this project

Yes indeed - the press always seems to focus on the negatives with any of Elon's businesses and innovations - such as funding - SUPPORT INNOVATION AMERICA

wow..we'll see what happens..

@rebeccabe Thanks for commenting - and yes I feed we shall see how this project pans out - hopefully the US Govt will be impressed and help push the venture along - usually Musk's business models include some form of a govt contractual stipend, grants, or just an overall benefit to society or the world that deems chunky kickbacks :)

A total genius to be involved in so many successful projects, but I think the media doesn’t like him because he won’t answer their dumb questions. IMHO a man this smart doesn’t have time to answer silly questions. He most likely is thinking about bigger things. 🐓🐓

@mothee2chicks - AGREED and well said - he seems very efficient and productive with his use of every minute of the day -

I'm gonna just say it now - heard it on @krytonika's feed -

MUSK FOR PRESIDENT 2028 MAYBE 2032!!!

Lets try an innovative, problem solving, genius take a stab at making America Great Again
