I was experimenting with some older shots I took last summer. Part of the reason I love black and white photos is the contrast between dark and bright, as well as light and how it can pronounce structures and really highlight things within the photo. I think all of this can be seen in this image. This would be a boring picture in colour, but turning it into black and white makes it interesting, putting emphasis on the leaves and their delicate vascular structures.
