I Went to an Underground Speakeasy run by the Mob Museum

So last night, my partner and I had a wonderful experience at an underground speak easy in Las Vegas.

We didn't even know about it until we got there!

We met up with a bunch of friends for dinner at Container Park down by Freemont street. (One of the wildest, craziest places in LV!) Half of our friends went to a concert just down the way, and the other half went to go check out this rumored speakeasy run by the mob museum downtown.

We walked the streets of Freemont to get there...and let me tell you, there's some weird people down there. On the way, we passed by people having a good time, tourists, and lots of people on drugs. Haha!

When we got to the mob museum, our friends lead us to the back of the building, where we found this dark staircase leading to the basement. We walked down it and came to this heavy door with a little sliding peephole. We rang a bell, and a big bouncer guy opens the peephole and asks us for the password.

"Cool Cats"

And we entered a new world.

We walked into this beautifully decorated, 1920's era, black and red themed underground jazz bar. It was so cool! There were pieces of art all about prohibition era all over the walls. There were giant old brewing machines, a big bar, costumes and interesting things to read all over the place! There were women dressed as flappers, and men dressed as kind gentlemen from the time. The drink menu was superb, and the atmosphere was wild and sophisticated. I explored the area as much as I could. It was exciting and surprising to see a place so quietly tucked away, when inside it was roaring with jazz!

We were entertained by the Gatsby Gang Jazz Band, with a beautiful singer, pianist and trumpet player. They took requests, and really got into their music. It was a good show!

I would definitely recommend checking it out. The whole process of getting in, saying a password and walking into this beautiful underground club was exhilarating to say the least!
