Wanting to see snow I took a drive with Ziggy up the Angeles Crest Highway on Saturday afternoon. We found snow, but only a small patch once we got to 6,300 feet. Armed with a Canon and a 85mm lens I grabbed a few shots in the snow.

Clouds surrounded us making for a very surreal trip.

Ziggy found a large snow ball on a tree stump.

Clouds broke just enough and the sun peeked through.

We stopped for a burger and a beer at Newcombs, a family owned restaurant since 1920

Lots of waterfalls from all the rain we've had over the past several weeks. Rare in SoCal

When you get up 6,000 feet you see sequoia trees

Yep, I can model. Ha! I broke out a strobe with a small soft box for a few portraits.

Enjoy!

excellent contrast my friend

Lately I've been going for the Ansel Adams zone system look. Deep blacks and a near blown out highlights.

Being a bit graphic, loved the pine cones.
