This is part 2 of our special journey to a stunning local Monumental Tree inspired by @kus-knee and as an addition to the monumental trees website.
We had to get there by foot and the trek is spectacular so I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to show off more of natures wonder that we see along the way!
Australia really has some gorgeous rainforest and its deserves some credit!
The rainforest is also the beginning of the the water catchment area and has important functions in maintaining the local fresh drinking water.
It also has the function of protecting the old growth trees from bushfire and that's how the tree has managed to stand the test of time!
Forest logging is a danger to these rare ancient species and my local community rallies to maintain the buffer zone of safety so it is not living under constant threat from logging.
There are many boardwalks to keep people off the wet forest floor.
This helps to preserve and maintain its eco system.
And they always make any photo look like a postcard!
Oh look, its that little fairy again....
And hiding just over the bridge and out of the gully....
When you thought your legs just didn't want to go on...
A epic monumental tree....
And the Steemit proof!
Stay tuned for Part 3!
