Motorcycle diaries: The breathtaking images taken by a French photographer on an eight-year road trip around Vietnam will make you ache to visit the country

 Jaw dropping images taken on one photographer's eight year odyssey across Vietnam have revealed the majestic beauty and diversity of the landscapes in a country known for its rolling hills and Buddhist pagodas.

French photographer, Réhahn, gave up his hectic life in France in 2007 to live a quiet one in Hoi An, after visiting the country and deciding to make the bold decision to follow his dream in photography.

Since then, he has captured over 50,000 photos by travelling the country on a motorbike - but only 145 of the photos made it to his first photobook, Vietnam – Mosaic of Contrasts.

The images include stunning shots of Hoi An Ancient Town, Dong Van Valley and Mu Cang Chai - however many are left untitled as Réhahn says he likes people to come up with their own stories and interpretations of his road trip around the Southeast Asian country.

As well as the stunning emerald, burnt orange and lime coloured scenic shots, the French native also has snapped candid shots of children and elderly people in their day-to-day life in and around the magical landscapes.

Réhahn said he prides himself on the photos, which reveal a side to Vietnam that most foreigners - and even locals - are yet to see, because of the originality and seclusion of their settings.
