Chicken-news from Hiddenstreet!

Hi steemians!

As I am laying on the sofa with a summer flue there is still a lot happening here at Hiddenstreet.

I had my birthday this weekend and my brother and his wife gave me a chicken :D
I gave her the name "Snæfríður" an old icelandic name that could be translated as "Snow-beauty" but it is very unusual for the Icelandic chicken breed to be white. They use to be very colourfull.

In that evening our favorite hen "Yrsa" was taken inside as she had become very ill. She was 5 years old and her time was running out. She took the train last night (like my daughter said) and we will miss her terribly.

While "Snæfríður" was under attack yesterday in the hen house my husband and daughter went to my brothers to get another hen to be her ally.

They brought home a chicken that looked more like a falcon but I hope she is a chick not a rooster. They get to stay together in our livingroom for a few days and then we will bring them as a team to the hen house.

So this is my wiew from the sofa while I try to get better of the flue ;)
