If you are in a super rush to create stunning black and white photos, below is a time saving tip to get great results with the click of a button.
If you don't have Adobe Lightroom CC for your desktop computer, you can get the same results by downloading the free app for Apple and Android devices.
STEP 1: Pull up your photo in Lightroom CC (desktop or mobile version) and scroll to "PRESETS". Presets are located at the bottom of the column that has PROFILE, LIGHT, COLOR, etc. at the top.
STEP 2: Scroll to the B&W section. B&W is under the COLOR and CREATIVE presets.
STEP 3: Experiment with the top five B&W presets, as these are (in my opinion) the best looking options:
This last Preset called "Flat" is very popular these days as it provides a type of matte appearance. Try "Flat" for landscapes that include people . . . its very effective.
Lightroom CC is called a "non-destructive" workflow, which means that you can create these black and white photos but still have the original color photo protected. Think of it this way . . . your original color image still lives "underneath" the newly created black and white (however not in the same way that Photoshop uses Layers).
Have fun experimenting with Lightroom CC Black and White presets! And to see more travel photos of mine please visit www.markhemmings.com
