Have you ever wondered ........how photography came to existence? Who invented the camera? Who is the mastermind behind this miraculous invention that has been used over 1000 of years?
The first ever camera was an obscura or pinhole camera which was used by Hasan Ibn al-Haytham (Alhazen) 1000AD who was a scientist, astronomer, philosopher and mathematician. He was an Arab Persian Muslim born in Basra which is currently located between Kuwait and Iran and lived in Cairo. During his life time Al Hazen proposed a hydraulic system to improve regulation of the nile river the caliph of the time Fatimid al hakim didn’t like this idea and presumed him to be mad . Alhazen was under house arrest, his idea was to build a dam around the present dam Aswan. He was under arrest from 1011 until al hakims death in1021. Which founded the invention of the camera. His goal was to try and explain that vision occurs when light bounces on an object and is directed to ones eye in which he used and invented obscura or pinhole camera to help him with the findings of his results, his work didn’t really focus on photography but was the first to invent such a Tremendous invention as we now days we know as the camera , though his work as a philosopher and so on did influence many great minds like Robert Grosseteste, Witelo, Giambattista della Porta, Leonardo Da Vinci, Galileo Galilei, Christiaan Huygens, René Descartes, and Johannes Kepler.

In 1827 Joseph Nicephore Niepce, a French inventor was the first person to make a photographic image , we don’t know if this was his first try with this experiment but what we do know it was a success. He now well known for the founder or inventor of photography
