Hello! Today I would like to talk about how the film "The Last Supper" was shot, on what technique, with what light and how the final picture was obtained.
I was asked many times about where the composition was shot, whether the costumes really were not photoshop, how the shooting process was going and how the photo was processed.
Let's divide the article into several points:
- Where was it shot?
- On what technique?
- How was it filmed?
- How was the photo processed?
Where was it shot?
It is right to mention that the customer and producer of this shooting was the company - The exit quest "Amnesia"
The shooting area was chosen by them and this site was the Rock Sity Bar, in which the shooting was conducted. The shooting lasted about 4 hours, since unforeseen situations always arise, and in our case 4 models did not arrive (it was -30 on the street and it was Sunday morning). In addition, it was necessary to dress and make up 11 people! Due to the lack of part of the models, we had to look for people directly on the set. It so happened that I appeared in the frame myself, in the role of barbarian, art director, barman club and dresser =)
What technique was it taken?
I used the following equipment:
- Fujifilm X-T10 camera
- External flashes Youngnuo YN560 III 2pcs
- Scattering umbrella
It's all that I used to shoot. Now my arsenal has a lot more light equipment, racks and so on.
How was it filmed?
Probably the most interesting point. The shooting was conducted using the technique of compositing:
Definition on the Internet
This is a multi-layer installation. The image on the screen is obtained by overlaying layers - one picture to another (one image object to another), resulting in a whole image
Simply put, the picture was shot in parts. People were shot in groups of several people, the surrounding environment is exposed separately, which elements of the interior are highlighted separately
How was the photo processed?
All the photographs taken on the set were carefully watched and selected, then uploaded to Photoshop and came together. The hard part was to exclude the self-intersection of the arms / legs / clothing elements when shooting in groups, because if this is allowed, then postprocessing can cause big problems with converting the frame into a single whole. It can happen that it will not even succeed!
Intermediate stage of photo information. There are also moments when the photo needs to specifically remove unnecessary elements that can not be removed on the set, although I now try to do everything during the shooting, in order to exclude the extra effort in postprocessing
Costumes this is photoshop?
I answer - no! More details you can see from the backstage in the video!
A small step-by-step process of assembling a photo and also backstage from shooting I'll show you in the video. Unfortunately, when processing photos, an unreal number of layers accumulate (in this photo there are about 40 layers), so they merge from time to time, and all the small details can not be seen in stages. Therefore, only the general picture of the assembly.
Thank you for attention! Put like, if this kind of material is interesting to you! Write comments, this is important to me!
