The Eiffel tower

This is my second post about a place i went to recently. And guess what!!!. I was just in Paris and i had a wonderful time there and as usual i took some notes about the eiffel tower for you guys.
When we hear about the Eiffel tower we credit Gustave Eiffel( a French civil engineer), he designed the tower and it was named after him. However, it was actually two men who originally came up with the drawings for the monument. There was were Maurice Koechlin and Emile Nouguier. The Eiffel tower was constructed from 1887-89 and was used as a entrance to the 1889 World's fair, the tower was also criticized by some French leading artist for its design, but it has now become a global cultural icon of France and also one of the most popular structures in the world. The tower is as high as 324 metres (1,063ft). It has the same height as a 81 Storey building and also the tallest structure in Paris.

The tower also has three levels in it for people who come all over the world to see it like I just did, with restaurants on the first and second levels.

The Eiffel tower is one of the most visited place in Paris and welcomes almost seven million visitors per year. it is also possible to climb to the top, but there are 1,665 steps so most visitors prefers to take the lift.

Science also tells us that the tower shrinks by about six inches during cold weather.

Also it takes 60 tonnes of paint to repaint the tower which usually happens every seven years.
The Eiffel tower is quite a marvelous structure and very beautiful. i hope i return there and I also wish you guys will check it out sometime (for those who have not been there). Pictures of the Eiffel towel is below.
