Rock of Ages Lighthouse - Isle Royale National Park

It seems appropriate to post this picture today. Not only as a way to contribute to @juliank’s architectural photography competition but also because I have started writing the first lines for posts regarding my entire trip to Isle Royale with a friend of mine.

As you can see the Rock of Ages lighthouse is undergoing preservation efforts to restore the structure to the state it was in while operating for ships navigating near the island in Lake Superior. We didn’t get a chance to see it when we were headed to the island but the ferry took us near it on the way back to the mainland.

I’m really excited to show you all the great pictures from this trip!

Thank you, it would be an incredible spot for a model shoot. Its probably best to check with the authorities before visiting because it is currently undergoing restoration.

It is always a good idea to check with the authorities in a vicinity of different unique structures. Most of the time they do not mind and may even help, let you in for example :)
