I which there were flowers like that growing in my neighborhood πŸ’•

Some of them are hardy into zone 4.
Get some seeds and start them indoors and maybe you can get them to bloom before frost!

Thanks! I'm sure that you have heard them, too!

Ohh yes so often I have heard them calling me

And I'll bet they know you by name!

LOL Maybe maybe not :)

Lovely! I could spend an afternoon in that garden, ahhhh :)

I do whenever I have an opportunity! It is so beautiful there.

Beautiful... certainly one of my favorite flowers. My mom and I always wore hibiscuses 🌺 on our hair! Thanks for the beautiful reminder of those lovely days with Mommie.πŸ₯°

Those are beautiful and colorful flowers. Just curious about the labels attached to the flower plants. What is written on them?

The tags identify the plants by botanical name and variety. Often they grow new varieties there that are not yet available commercially.

They ARE beautiful.... aren't they?

I love the photo that shows all the different flowers together. So colorful !

I took a photo of this one on my mother's porch this past Sunday.

Oh! That's a beauty! Such a lovely color!

I was wondering what those big flowers were... Thanks :-)

My pleasure! They do stand out, don't they?

Like something from Alice and Wonderland :-)

That is exactly right!

They are beautiful flowers and love having their picture taken. 😊

Are they hardy as far north as you are?

I think a good frost would kill them. They would have to be brought indoors in winter.

The ones in the photos die back in the winter and grow again in the spring. They appear so tropical that it always surprises me.

These flowers are very beautiful 😍🌼

Thanks. You must have them there?

Yes!

Beautiful! Are your hibiscus perennials?

This type is, and it rather amazes me that they survive our winters.

I am so happy to read what you write about the hibiscus. I feel exactly as you said - how it is saying, come snap a picture of me, every time I pass by one. I am glad I am not the only one who feels this way. I thought there was something wrong with me. There is something about the hibiscus that attracts me - simple, hardly and yet beautiful and strong in its simplicity. Am I making sense to you. lol

Perfect sense! I think paying close attention to nature and the world around is good for our mental health and the camera literally reminds us to slow down and focus.

Well said. 😊

Nice flower pics, Melinda!
It's great that even posts like this are getting big upvotes nowadays. I guess that's an upside to NewSteem!!

Even posts like this? I have always done photo essay posts and my followers seem to like them.

Of course everybody likes them, they're great!
I just mean that, well, it's a common joke on Steem that the most basic post is pics of flowers. They say that about half the posts on this blockchain are pics of flowers! Haha. But clearly people love flowers and can always see more. There will always be demand for flower pics here, I'm sure. I myself specialize in flower pics.... just not the same species of flowers :)

Guess we hang out in different crowds! I've never heard the flower picture jokes. Taking time to appreciate nature is valuable to some of us.

Amazing beauty! :)

Do you see hibiscus growing around your area?

No, only small ones indoors :) The climate would be too harsh for such beauties :)

I am surprised that they grow here, but even after the harshest Wisconsin winters they come back up in the spring.

They definitely know how to capture your eye, then the lens Melinda they appear to be an international flower loved by all.

Here is one for you from our local nursery. Sunny greetings from South Africa!

That is a beauty! How fun to know that they are calling out to others all around the world to take their pictures, too!

Lovely images in your photo essay

Thanks so much! I will be missing all these beauties as our first frost is looming just over the horizon!

I really love the shade of the hibiscus in your 2nd photo!

Thanks! It is beautiful, isn't it?

Pretty and lovely Hibiscus Flowers photography.

Lovely photos :) Cheers :)

Thanks so much!

Gorgeous πŸŒΈπŸ’–πŸŒΈ

Thanks! They are such showoffs, aren't they?

Oh yes, that's true, lol. They are very popular in our neighbourhood too 🌸😊🌸

They always seem so tropical and I am a bit surprised when I see them growing in the north country!

That is very true, although I am used to it, because I have Italian neighbours who have all kinds of flower that look exotic. I just didn't have a chance to post to them yet.

How fun to have unusual plants right in the neighborhood!

I love it! To bad the winter is coming!

Too bad, indeed. It's dark and rainy here today and I'm shivering already!
