Last post we finished at the peak of Mohonk mountain. Here is just a little reminder of how amazing it’s view it is.
We headed back. However, we took a different trail. As you already noticed in my previous posts me and my wife love to explore new trails, new unknown directions. We decided to go right!
I was getting little nervous since we didn’t see any signs for some time already. Then I noticed some movement behind these branches. It was hiding, but I almost immediately recognized what it was.
It was a wild turkey. I didn’t understand why it was hiding. I just wanted to ask for direction since it was local.
Than this guy got our attention. Fortunately we both are animal lovers and we always have some extra nuts for them. I tried to ask him for direction, but all he was interested in was nuts.
Than this smal pond with few fish in it. I didn’t bother to ask. I just threw some bread. It was gone in just a few seconds. It literally looked like a piranha.
We walked for a few more minutes and there it was. Mohonk Mountain House. I was relieved. We didn’t get lost.
This is man made if someone doesn’t know. I definitely would.
Once again this trees with some kind of decease were everywhere.
What is this?
It’s a maze, but it was closed for season. I guess it’s a tick season. This time if anyone had gone through this maze I’m pretty sure he would have taken many ticks with him as a souvenir.
Some flowers!
And of course, where the animals are, we happen to be there as well. We had an option to take them for a ride, but it was too late and we still had about an hour of walk ahead of us to get to our car. We still spent some time with these guys. And we definitely had a great time with them.
This is Jake!
Say hello to everyone, Jake!
Let me introduce our new friend.
His name is Bear!
Here is Jake and Bear together. Best friends!
And here is Bear again.
And that’s the end of our tour through Mohonk woods. I hope you enjoyed it!

Beautiful place.
It reminds me so much of Sljeme, which is a national park in Zagreb, where I'm living.
By the way, love that squirrel.
It's almost like it's posing for a picture
