Before I take you through the woods of beautiful Mohonk resort In New York I want to assure you about everything you see and read here is based on true events, nothing is made up. I will show you the beauty of nature, wild animals, domestic animals and perhaps I will share with you our (mine and my wife’s) interaction with a black bear. Ooow and as this “twin” steemien “once or twice” always says “no animal was harmed or injured”.
Before I start, I want you to know a little basics about this place. It’s a ... here is the wiki link Mononk Mountain House if anyone wants to find out. I know it’s boring and no one would actualy want to read it. I probably would.
WHERE SHOULD I BEGIN? 🤔
OK.
We finally arrived after 2 1/2 hours drive from NY, Queens. It was almost 8am and about 68F. Just perfect weather for shirt and britches only (not shirtless). I said “I’m not taking my jacket!” Because my wife demanded to take a jacket. I said “it was too hot for a jacket”, but a the same time I took the jacket anyway. Soo she took her jacket as well and I knew in a few minutes she will say “it’s too hot” and I will have to carry everything in my backpack, because it was already too hot.
That’s exactly what happened in less then 10 minutes of hiking
So finally we went hiking!
It takes about 40 min of average speed walk to get to Mohonk Mountain House from our car’s parking lot.
We walked!
Sorry! 👆won’t happen again!
We walked!
And I noticed there was this weird discoloration on most of the trees
She said “it’s a sick tree”
It’s all over! It’s everywere!
And I also noticed this!
These leaves with decease are all over!
And this “What is this?”
So many dead and sick trees! But I still loved to be there walking with mather nature.
Than we had to make decision which way to go. All these arrows pointed left. We went right!
We walked for a few more minutes.
I knew we were right to go right.
Otherwise, we would have missed this...
We walked again for a few more minutes and we finally arived.
Here taking some pictures and relaxing before we continued our walk.
I love this tree. Looking at this I feel something special about it. 🤔
Oh, sorry! I know!
Spending here for a few minutes and enjoying the view. Then again we walked right to the top. But since this post is already too long, we will continue our tour through the Mohonk woods in the next post including my interaction with a bear.
Here is the sneak peak at what’s coming next...
And this!
And that!
