A small Story:"Ostrich farm"(Author @milaoz).

Hello everybody!

Today I want to tell you a little about my visit to the ostrich farm. Before that, I had never seen ostriches live, only on the TV screen or in the picture. I did not even imagine that ostriches are so big and tall birds.

At the entrance to the ostrich farm, ostrich food was sold, and I decided to buy some carrots.

As it turned out, ostriches are very fond of carrots and absorb it with pleasure. I was interested in feeding them and at the same time scared, because I was afraid that they could bite off my finger).

I managed to feed the two largest ostriches, one ostrich was with black plumage, and the other was gray. Both ostriches were amazingly beautiful.

How did I know the average ostrich's height reaches about 2.5 meters, and the weight is about 120 kg. The ostrich is the largest bird of all existing birds. Most of the ostrich's growth falls on his long legs. Therefore ostriches are excellent runners, they can run at a speed of 70 km per hour.

Ostriches eat mostly vegetable food. Along with the grass, leaves and vegetables, they eat insects, small lizards, turtles and even can eat a bird or not a very large animal.

By the color of the plumage, you can distinguish between the sex of the ostrich. Males look larger and have black color of feathers. The females, on the other hand, have a smaller size and a gray-brown color of the plumage.

Ostrich eggs are the largest eggs in the world. The ostrich egg has a glossy shell. It is very thick and strong and able to withstand the weight of an adult.

I wanted to buy one egg, but unfortunately they were not available at the moment.

Very interesting-- thanks for sharing this! I remember ostriches a little bit from when I was a child and we lived in Kenya for a short time... they seemed extremely large then, but I was only 8 years old. Nice photos!

Thank you so much @denmarkguy:)

Good article with nice pictures.

Thank you:)
