Rare Elvis Collectibles

I am Tom Morgan Jr. of Memphis, TN. and a life long fan of Elvis Presley for many reasons. In the early 1950’s my family and I lived next door to Elvis and his family in the Lauderdale Courts Apartments on Winchester Street. Elvis attended Humes High School where he graduated June 3rd, 1953. I too attended Humes but later graduated form Messick High School in 1959. While attending Messick, I remember Elvis singing in a musical variety show at our school, this was in the early years of his career. Our paths crossed several times during the following years.

In 1976 I went to work at the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, as Adm. Assistant to Sheriff Gene Barksdale. During my service in the Sheriff’s Department I had the privilege to meet Elvis again and to be involved in a part of his life that was very important to him. Elvis was intrigued by law enforcement and had a desire to be more involved with the "Shelby County Sheriff’s Department" as a "Special Deputy".

As Adm. Assistant to Sheriff Barksdale, my duties and responsibilities included the administration of the "Special Deputy Program". We commissioned Elvis, his father and other security members as "Special Deputies" within our department. It was an honor for me to be involved in their being commissioned. We had numerous other interactions with Elvis and his staff as months went by.

On Aug.15th a Monday evening, I was at Graceland to deliver a special gift to Elvis for the up coming concert tour, never dreaming this would be the last time I was to see Elvis alive. The next day while at my office I received a phone call from Dick Grob (Chief of Security for Elvis) telling me Elvis was dead! At Mr.Vernon Presley’s request and with approval from Sheriff Barksdale, I was the coordinator of security from the Sheriff’s Department at Graceland for about 10 days. Along with Elvis’ security members and staff we were responsible for security of the home and grounds during Elvis’ funeral. Weeks later, again at Mr. Presley’s request, I assisted in coordinating the move of Elvis’ body back to Graceland to his final resting place.

Because of my friendship with Elvis and his entourage, I found myself in a unique position to acquire Elvis memorabilia. Over the years I have owned just about every kind of Elvis collectible you can dream of including a jumpsuit, car, clothes, jewelry and pistols.

Listed below, for the first time, are just a few "One Of A Kind" items from my Elvis Collection that are being offered for your consideration. Only serious collectors should inquire, all offers will be considered.
