Daucus Carota

We've all seen it in the fields, but how many we actually know about the Daucus carota?

It has a lot of names around the world. In the USA it is known with the name “Queen Anne’s Lace”. In Greece we have a lot of names for this flower but the most known is “The Flower Of Shame”. And why is that?

The myth says that many years ago, as long as there was shame in the world, the flower was full of these black "spots". Year after year, as the shame of the people vanishes, the black flowers disappeared. Right now there is only one in the center and when it falls there will be no more shame in the world.

Thank you for your time!
