These two photographs are a likely pair in my opinion. One is a photograph of a beautiful yet simple old church here in town. The round piece you see peeking through the front door is stained glass. Some things one can never get enough of.

The other is the marker about William Bartram, explorer of Florida, and the first have the courage to chop his way through the swamps and overgrown forests then to catalogue the flora and fauna he saw on the way. I cannot imagine a more miserable journey with mosquitos, alligators, and snakes. The malaria was unprecedented and yet he won the battle. His writings are impressive as you read the marker those he influenced are well regarded writers and naturalists.

Nature is a Holy place on earth.

Really great photo, the church with the door open and the image shining through-way cool!

Thank you @walkthisway. The little town was busy, so I was pleased to capture this image. 🐓🐓

Neat! :D

Many thanks for stopping by. 🐓🐓

Nice introduction would like to see more. It great to see it from you point of view! Here in the UK we get such a different picture of Florida (well US in general) from our propaganda machines 💯🐒

Really great photos! Love the stained glass. I can't imagine what it would have been like to explore in those early days! Swamp, alligators, mosquitoes, and snakes! The mosquitoes would do me in!
