Wake Up Early...Its Worth a Shot! - Photography

Brought to you by BorderlessCitizen Photography,

This album showcases a sunrise shoot of the Jupiter Inlet the oceanic gateway to my beloved hometown Jupiter, Florida.

While many people make mortal enemies with their alarm clocks and believe its ludicrous to step outside before the sun rises, this is often the most amazing part of the day. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for sleeping in to obnoxious hours of the day too, but when I rise before the sun for a more adventurous start, it rarely disappoints.

The following sequence of shots was just before the sun broke horizon. Exposure info and more below:

The 4 shots above were taken just 2 minutes apart from each other, all while standing on the US1 Bridge just south west of the Jupiter lighthouse at just about 10 minutes till 7AM. The colors were changing at an incredible pace and I used 52s, 28s, 33s, and 57s exposure times respectfully to capture those changes.

East coast Floridians are frequently blessed with some of the most spectacular sunrises the world has to offer. The temperatures are cooler, the time moves slower, and the colors burn brighter. If you haven't enjoyed a sunrise lately, apart from angrily sitting in traffic on your way to work, take some time to get up and enjoy one in peace for a change. You might surprise yourself with how much you actually enjoy it.

Once the sun broke horizon I headed over to the beach to catch a morning surf, but not before firing off a few more snaps first. Standing on the south side of the inlet facing out to sea, the sun jumped lit up the way for the coming fishermen with a late start to the day.

A couple of pigeons were living by the "Early bird gets the worm" code and scouted front row seating.

Freshly tracked morning walkers' foot prints creep out of the shadows.

A local fisherman heads out for the day with his crew under a freshly lit sky. With any luck they came back with a boat full of Mahi, Grouper, Snappers, and more of our local water's delicious offerings some several sun beaten hours later.
