Burung serindit merupakan jenis burung paruh bengkok yang mana pada bagian paruhnya mirip seperti burung kakatua maupun lovebird , 
akan tetapi burung tersebut memiliki kimiripan yang hampir mirip dengan burung lovebird dan untuk cara membedakan jenis kelamin jantan maupun betina sama halnya dengan membedakan jenis kelamin burung lovebird.
