This lake is located in District Lebong Selatan, Lebong District, and is on the slopes of Bukit Barisan mountain with an altitude of approximately 500 meters above sea level.

In the Dutch colonial era in Bengkulu especially the gold mining period in Lebong (1912), Lake Tes has been utilized and built as Electric Power by dammed in order to illuminate golden plots in Lebong Simpang, Tawah Sawah, and Muara Aman Town.
