Reykjavik at Night - Iceland - Day 1 (Photo Journal of Deneb Catalan)

Rockin a Fuji X100 for the first time in low light with beautiful results. It's a fixed 35mm lens, manual aperture and shutter. It's fantastic for street photography, roaming the quiet streets of Downtown Reykjavik, after midnight, with my best friends Monica and Roger.

Roger Badillo and Monica Marteau of Frenchcut Hair in Portland, Oregon.

Iceland, was a stopover headed to Paris on Friday September 11th, 2015. We arrived with a team of people, split into two groups. The day was so windy that we stayed indoors till the winds calmed. Anxious, we decided to leave the AirBnB, and venture downtown. We heard the nightlife in Reykjavik was pretty lively, but this night was calm.

People seem pretty chill that night.

There were quite a bit of street art peppered around the Swiss like architecture and cobblestone roads.

Small mural near a bar located underground. They had Salsa dancing and the place was packed.

There were a bunch of really cool street art hidden in the alleyways.

Further down the road, near the sea, we followed the crowd. It was definitely busier in the financial district.

Came across, a little taste of home...

Fuck yeah.

It made us smile. :)

After this shot, I ditched the camera, had alot to test it out in low light and without a tripod. I used the filter settings that came with the camera. There's still noticeable grain at 16oo ISO, but it's not too shabby.

Reykjavik, felt a lot like Portland, Oregon in certain ways. It was until the next night coming back, the streets switched on to a whole different level! We, for only a few hours, began to really 'warm-up' to Iceland.

I have more snaps of Iceland and Paris that I want to share with the nifty Fujifilm X100! :)
