Mountain - Inspiration

in photography •  6 years ago  (edited)

Working in a studio, I tend to spend a lot of time in a fairly dark room starring at wave forms on a computer screen so I chose a hobby that attempts to balance this out a little with lots of physical activity and views for days. I'm lucky enough to live in France where cycling is a national obsession in part down to the popularity of the Tour de France but also the abundance of amazing climbs you can do on a bicycle. Each climb is a is it's own journey and I've often had plenty of meditative time to think of new ideas musically in the fresh alpine air and take in awe inspiring vistas that stick in the mind for days.

This particular photograph was taken from the Jura mountains looking back at Mont Blanc.

This next photo is a view of Mont Ventoux from the village of Bedoin, one of the hardest climbs and can be dangerously windy at times with the Mistral tearing through the Provencal region without much due warning.

It's always good to get some perspective and be humbled from time to time, even better to get some ideas for a new song or project!
