So I have decided to split the difference when it comes to the content I will post. So, from now on you will get a variety of things, for every landscape or sunset photo posted you will get one Astro photo!
Anyway, it's not easy to find dark skies on the East Coast. I have had to drive along the way just to find the dark enough to capture the Milky Way. One of those locations is Cape Hatteras in North Carolina. There's something to say about a place that is so far out of the city that you can still see the stars in the night sky.
This image was taken during my last trip down to the island. The trip was almost a total failure, but I was able to get a couple of hours of night with clear skies. I captured some amazing shots and came home very happy with the trip.
This image is a combination of quite a few photos stacked together. The sky is made up of 10 images, and the foreground is made up of a number of different ideas that were blended together to create what you see here.
Wow! The sky is masterpiece! What gear are you using?
