Euphorbia Globosa flower

in photography •  7 years ago  (edited)

Euphorbia Globosa is one of the weirder looking succulent plants. Native to South Africa, it grows and spreads by forming new globes, which balance on top of the others and look a lot like little green soccer balls. No two plants will ever look alike.
The brown patches are called "corking" and this is scarring from powdery mildew, which these plants get very easily. Although we associate mildew with humidity, there are species of mildew that are adapted to dry conditions and tend to attack euphorbia in particular. Amazing as it looks, it's a challenging plant to grow

All succulent plants look like extraterrestrial species. This is very beautiful
Congratulations @nikv.

Thank you! I also think they look like extraterrestrials

A fabulous photo. A very interesting plant. I love succulents, I have a lot of them. But such a miracle in our country can not be found.

The first time I saw this, I had to have it, even though it has been difficult to care for unless it is watered just right. It needs a lot of light so it is not one that could easily be grown in winter months in the North

Good publication, it's interesting. regards
