Hongkong is one of the busiest cities in the world. Even though it is an autonomous territory, majority of its lands consists of towering skyscrapers, inter-connected subway systems and people doing business every single day of the week.
While most of those scenes take place in the wee hours of morning, some of the colorful and picturesque sights begins at night.
At 7:00pm people converge in Victoria Harbour in Tsim Sha Tsui to witness the dazzling display of city lights from across the water passage. About 10-15 minutes of lights show accompanied with some intrumental sounds hypnotized the crowd with amazement. After the show, people take a couple of shots of the vibrant skyline of Hongkong. Tourist and locals begin searching cheap eats or dine in luxurious restaurants near the area just to taste what Hongkong has to offer.
Elsewhere, if you’re not into that kind of scenery, you can also try going to Mongkok. Just a few stations away from Tsim Sha Tsui. This area has a lot to offer, from bags, shoes, clothes, food. You name it, they probably have it. A lot of people lined the streets looking left to right because every part of the area is a shopaholic’s dream! There are streets here that spefically sells particular items such as the famous sneaker street, where every brand of sneakers are available. You can also find bargain deals where you can haggle with the price. Sometimes if you get lucky, a $100 item can go down til $30. There are also good food in the area, skewered meat, fish balls, octopus, egg waffles and more. When you’re here time seems to stop and just let you enjoy til you wear down.
This city has many more to offer, but it doesn’t stop at 5pm in the afternoon, it continues til midmight and some areas, til dawn. Be sure to prepare yourself, your mind and pockets for a exciting adventure in the city of Hongkong.
