In what feels like a blink of the eye, my son grew from this adorable little two-year-old nugget to become a young man who is finishing the last chapter of his teenage years at the end of this month...

Image taken in November of 2001 with my former Minolta Dimage digital camera while on vacation in The Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

I’ve been going through the same thing, @ninahaskin. I actually have two that were born the year that picture was taken. It breaks my heart a little to look at the pictures of them when they were small, but I’m also really enjoying the process of watching them grow up.

Appreciate the kind words of support! So you have two teenaged boys, both in high school and is one driving yet? Those four years of high school were the quickest ever. And you're absolutely right in saying they will always be you're little boys and don't ever let them forget it!

Yes both in High school. None of them driving yet, in Holland you are only allowed to drive from 17. Time is passing by way to fast, sometimes I think a bit to fast.... Enjoying every single day with those guys... And totally true, never let them forget that they are the most valueable and important in life...... and always will be our little ones (although they are both already bigger then I am lol)

Look at those eyes! Bright and shiny, just like he is looking into his future. Beautiful portrait shot!

So hard to watch them grow up and out from your grasp, but, usually, that is for a fleeting moment. I can remember moving a little away from my parents to establish my own identity, but, returned closer than ever. They are always ours. Forever and ever. Amen.
