My sweet mother came across this photo of yours truly and our family cat that I'd named Trixie.

I'm 99% certain she was named after the character from the "Speed Racer" tv cartoon show that was popular in the late 60's.

Tagging the incredible @dpet who hosts #dailypetphotography as well as using the #caturday tag.

Photo taken with one of the numerous cameras my father owned back in the day.

That was a very adorable photo!

One of my friends has a cat named Trixie. Sadly, she disappeared one day and was never found. They think it was one of the neighbours that took her and who knows what they did to her.

I also use the Comment Coins on two of my accounts. I like to support projects that encourage engagement.

I can remember my younger brother watching Speed Racer, but I think I was starting high school when it became popular, and I was busy with other things.

Barrettes and home permanents, too. I was definitely a tomboy.

@ninahaskin Mine are happy with bones and food and food daily plus jumping and using their teeth daily. I do not need a special occasion for it. It is the same with mother's day. No need to celebrate that. I know how my kids think about me.
But I know shat you mean and it is a sweet gesture they are part of the family.

I appreciate you taking time out of your busy day while on vacation to visit, leave a kind comment, and support my post!💕

Trixie was the last cat I ever owned. Now I have "grandcats & granddogs!" Growing up, we owned many dogs, a few Guinea pigs, hamsters, parakeet, turtles and had a regular zoo at home!

I'm a dog person too, mainly German Shepherds, several rescue dogs, and then American cocker spaniels after graduating from college. My last dog, Sasha, was over 17 years old when we had to put her to sleep earlier this year. I miss her terribly...

How about your childhood and did you and Pura have any dogs?

Uh oh, you might end up wishing you never asked. 😉

I had German shepherds as a kid. I haven’t had one since 2012, The Rook, she was all black and weighed 105 pounds. She was so big for a female, a female averages 67lbs, the best Dang dog ever!

I’ve been waiting in anticipation of my master plan. First was to withdraw from the work world, that took a lot of time, prep, and forethought. I’m a chess player, just thought I’d throw that in there. Then I wanted to get at least 2 years of world travel in. See, I couldn’t have a dog while planning my escape from the rat race, nor while traveling. We’re Ca rly 2 year into this 2 year journey.

Then I met Pura.

All the while master minding the next phase in my life—breed my own German shepherds. Before I return to the states, I’ll make one last stop—a trip to Germany and get my first male, a Black and Tan. Already got the breeder, his dogs have clean hips, his females only birth twice and then they’re retired, and they all live avg. 14 years. Then I’ll go to the second breeder, they’re in Chattanooga, and get my first female, a sable.

Only two litters per female. That’s it. Everything will be done with love and profession. By the time I get to about 4th or 5th generation, the training facility should be nice and I’ll have giant, gorgeous attack dogs that’ll rip your throat out while at the same time, lick a toddler in the face and run side by side with pura. Cha ching! My passion will be in full swing, I’ll sleep good, they’ll be worth a fortune, and a whole bunch of German shepherds will have a great life.

Omg, what a beauty & gentle giant The Rook must have been! I never had a full black GSD, only a pure white one my parents had when I was a child.

I kept waiting for her to speak English but it never happened, brilliant dog that Rook was! I’ve been patiently planning for nearly 9 years now for my next venture.

Not sure if this is a safe place to say this, it’s just you and I here, right? 😉 Rome means Catholic. What I mean by that is, you’re not attending any mass around here without buying tickets. I don’t have the authority to judge but I choose not to purchase tickets to enter a place of worship.

Besides, in my little bubble, it’s Jesus’ birthday every day. Plenty room in here, Nina! And it’s comfortable too—Merry Christmas!

I never heard of having to purchase a ticket to attend Christmas Eve Mass or any other mass at the St. Peters Basilica in Rome. Tickets are free if one plans in advance. Some bad seeds are trying to make a buck!
