About two or three times a week I pass by this old villa in Osijek (intersection of Radićeva and Reinserova street) Every time I see it I imagine how beautiful it once was and I get sad because now it is in a very bad condition.
Some photos that I took:
I did some goggling and I found out that there was a orthopedic hospital, and it is abandoned since 1998. Before that it was the property of dr. Julie Batory - then it was nationalized by the communists. His son Ivan Batory tried to get it back - because Croatian state obligated itself to give back nationalized property after we left Yugoslavia and communism. But I guess we haven't fully left it because it was not given back to him and it's to this day mismanaged by the state like everything else in this county.
I also found some old photos and and paintings of it online:
Interesting shots.
