It was a cloudy windy Thursday when we decided, @simba and I, to go out and check rumors (followed by pictures that people uploaded the web... 🤔) about
Pleurotus еryngii var. ferulae mushrooms which have been found in the Gilboa forest area in Israel recently.
The mushroom season ended not long ago but due to the rains that stopped just last week, a lot of pictures of mushrooms appeared in the online forums of "those who understand" 😉
But apparently, the rains did not fall in the Gilboa area... 😥
The soil was relatively dry and we found a total of 2 mushrooms (one of which was of a different kind).
Perhaps this is related to the story from the bible about King Shaul who cursed the Gilboa - "No dew or rain upon you!" or maybe we just weren't lucky enough 😜
We were lucky enough though, to walk around the forest for a few hours time while the rest of the world is at work lol 😝😜😝
