This is a posting with a photo of a butterfly I made a few days ago. The photo, not the butterfly; I don't know how to make butterflies.
To make it more informative, I can tell you that the butterfly in the photo is a European peacock (Aglais io), dagpauwoog in Dutch, one of the most colourful species in Europe.
What's more important, is that this is the first one of this species this year that sat still long enough to get a decent shot:
Olympus Stylus 1s, 300mm, ISO200, f6.3, 1/100s
Some butterflies flap about a lot, and some even patrol an area and rarely sit down. If you insist on taking a photo of such a butterfly, you have no choice but to follow them around.
Some people point fingers and laugh at you when you run after butterflies through the meadows, waiting for them to rest or eat somewhere.
These people suck.
Then, still panting, you process the photo as well as you can and you post it, and some people will complain it is a posting "with just a photo".
These people suck.
After a while, you get inane comments saying "nice photogray" or "beutiful butterfly" or "amasing" from people who don't vote.
These people suck.
Then you look at the trending page by mistake and decide it is high time you got some coffee.
In Scotland I found that on days with "Fair weather cumulus clouds" passing over, the butterflies would take cover when a cloud passed over allowing me to get close. As soon as the sun was out again the butterfly would take off.
The butterflies here don't seem to do that. These butterflies suck!

Is there such a thing as fair weather in Scotland? Maybe it is very wise to look for shelter in Scotland every time a cloud rolls in.
