Tree Tuesday: Dead Wood

in photography •  7 years ago

The tree stumps you see in the photos are birches that didn't survive the rising water level in the peat bog:

No doubt, more young birches will try to gain a foothold in the bog and suffer the same fate.

So sad. Looks like a graveyard for the birches. The reflection adds beauty to this sad scene.

Well done!

Thank you.

Never seen anything like it. How amazing nature. The struggle for survival. Birch trees do not give up. And who knows, maybe one day they will dry up the swamp with their roots.

I hope not, I like peat bogs 8-).

Hey.

Excellent photos as usual. I have to say that I really love the first one, it's really inspiring ^_^
