Two nice views in the peat bog

in photography •  7 years ago  (edited)

Both these photos were taken in the Armenveen, part of the Haaksbergerveen, a peat bog near Haaksbergen, The Netherlands.

On the edge of the peat bog:

A view over the peat bog:

The white stuff you see in the second photo is common cottongrass (Eriophorum angustifolium) aka bog cotton, often found in peat bogs.

I could sit looking at these scenes for hours, if it weren't for the mosquitos. Those dragonflies really should work harder at catching them.

Thanks for watching!

Are there fish?

No. Well, maybe the odd stickleback that got lost, but these soon perish here.

Too acidic water I guess.

OK. Thanks! :)
