For those of you closely watching the battle for the fastest car tag, you would have seen what Agera RS did in the very recent past. It is now at the helm of affairs and it is not over yet. There is a four-way battle expected in the next one year between the Bugatti, Hennessey, Koenigsegg, and SSC. Never has it been such a close fight in such a short time for the top spot. As of 2018, I suggest you watch this space.
Meanwhile, here are the Titans:
- Koenigsegg Agera RS
This is the fastest car in the world as of today and has taken over the lead from the Bugatti Veyron. It has a top speed of 277.9 mph or 447.42 km/hr.
- Bugatti Veyron Super Sport
Here is the old horse, a veteran and the top spot holder for nearly a decade. It has now given the reigns to Koenigsegg. Bugatti will come back to claim the top spot with the Chiron very soon. As far as the Veyron is concerned, it is curtains-down for it. Veyron has a top speed of 267 mph or 429.87 km/hr.
- Hennessey Venom GT
This is the other car which was vying for the top spot, did a speed run better than the Bugatti but still did not make it to the top. There was a technical requirement of a two-way run which the Hennessey could not do and so it remained where it remained. The Venom GT had a top speed of 270.49 mph or 435.49 km/hr. [Not a record]. Hennessey will bring in the Venom F5 to claim the top spot.
- Koenigsegg Agera R
It is the elder sibling of the RS and it fourth on the overall list. It has a top speed of 260 mph or 418.6 km/hr.
- SSC Ultimate Aero
The Ultimate Aero was the original challenger to the Bugatti in 2007 and took the top spot. That reign at the top continued till the Bugatti came back with the Veyron Super Sport. At the moment, SSC is at the fifth spot. It has a top speed of 257 mph or 413.77 km/hr.
- 9ff GT9-R
The 9ff is the sixth fastest although in terms of top speed it is similar to the Ultimate Aero. Ultimate Aero has a faster acceleration as compared to the 9ff and hence it is in the fifth spot. Needless to say, 9ff takes the sixth spot. It has a top speed of 257 mph or 413.77 km/hr.
