Back To The Hawrelak Park

in photography •  6 years ago

We visited the park in January because we want to see the ice castle. It was a great experience and I made a post about it too. I'll post the link down below if you're interested.

But I know a lot of my followers are coming from the countries without snow and winter and it might be interesting for them to see how big the difference can be just a few months later.

I'm used to snow but the transition from winter to summer is soo fast here, that fascinates me every year.

In Slovenia, we have at least one rainy month or even more between winter and summer. Nature takes a time to wake up and start growing and blooming which is not the case here in Alberta.

It seems they have some kind of switch here. It happens almost overnight. Temperatures rise from zero to 27degrees just in a couple of days, people buy blooming plants and plant them in the front yards. Grass turns green and voila; summer is here.

This resting firepit serves as a nice decoration in the summertime

and shows his attributes in the winter.

Ice castle and skating ring are shining in January.

Not soo in May.

But you need to admit that the castle it's quite persistent.

Geese, ducks, and seagulls replaced skaters

People can rent kayaks, canoes and some kind of water bicycles,

or just take a walk in the park.

Nature is beautiful.

And here is the link I promised. In case you want to chill down a little bit.

This one is out of context but I think I caught a beaver on this shot.

What do you think? Is it a beaver or not?

See you soon, my friends.

Beautiful, I love the firepit. I've never seen a beaver so can't say but it definitely looks like it could be!

this photo is very beautiful.
I really like all your photos this buddy.

It could be a beaver. We also have a muskrat that swims like that. He gets pretty close to our kayaks. He will also swim underwater for a bit.

Sounds like weather there acts like ours here in Michigan. We go from cold to boiling in no time - sometimes even in the same day lol.

Nature truly is beautiful!

That was one hell of a snow castle, how is it still "fighting" in May? :)

Summer does arrive all in a rush when it finally gets here, and I think all the flowers know that they have to bloom their little hearts out while they have the opportunity! You did a great job showing how it happens!

Wow . It's amazing . Resteemed it . Thanks

So beautiful post, i really liked the firepit, and that firepit really have the architectural essence and the design is not of these times, it's more reflecting the ancient one. In my opinion people would enjoyed the skating around that ice castle. I liked the park view because it have natural essence in more extent and great to walk around here. And yes nature is beautiful and we cannot imagine some creations, in this picture it's literally reflecting as three layered structure. Thanks for sharing this post with us and wishing you an great day. Stay blessed. 🙂

The beautiful garden may be your day fun, upvote and resteem.

I have visited West Europe last year, and I have seen and felt the snow :)

cool park, that fire pit looks awesome to hang by!

It was a different season with my country of residence. We never found it with winter. I really enjoy the photos about the natural life of your portrait. Yes, surely it is a beaver swimming. Good luck always for you @oldtimer.

Wooo!! Amazing photos!! the place is beautiful! is a place of peace!!!

Great selection of photographs @oldtimer. I always enjoy comparisons. What a contrast. I'm amazed that so much snow is still left though! 😊

Lots of memories from that park growing up. Whether its the festivals or the concerts or just taking a stroll. :)

I still need to find out all the goodies.

Great comparison shots... nature doesn't waste any time up there because it knows its on a tight schedule! Funny that the remnants of the ice castle are still visible. Your last shot definitely looks like a beaver... or Sasquatch crossing the river wearing his beaver hat!

It must be a beaver, hehe.

That overnight transition sounds really interesting. Here in Slo the weather is consolidating again, now at about 11 degrees, brrr.
The last photo looks like a duck in a sport mode :)

Amazing photos, looks like an awesome place :)
