Walk By The River

in photography •  7 years ago

It's kind of lazy weekend for me but I need my daily dose of steemit. Now I'm checking my feed even before the first morning coffee. I must be quite high on the steemit addiction scale I guess.

I know that this puppy has nothing to do with with the river walk but somehow I had to draw your attention to click on this post. And to be honest I took this shot on the way to the river.

You can see a lot of this kind of rusty oldtimers in Alberta and their owners are very proud of them.
But I took this photo more because of the plate on its bumper.

Not older-just better.

Hmm, are we?

Edmonton River Walley. It needs another month to show it's true value I think.

20180512_1954162.jpg

But the river is in liquid form and Edmontonians don't want to waste the time and miss the opportunity.

Plants are also in the rush. I think this is an apple tree. Yes, they grow here if you didn't know. And even cherries.

20180502_191845.jpg

I didn't see a beaver yet but looking at the size of the tree they knock down they must be huge.

Cityscape

I call it the blue bridge when we moved to the city. Now I know its name is Rowland bridge.

Maybe there is some wisdom on that plate on the car bumper from the first photo after all.

No, no. They're not from the valley but from Home Depo's garden department. It's also purple color challenge today in case you didn't know. Hurry up you might catch it and even find a better match.

But this one it is from the river valley. It was taken at 9 PM. Days are getting longer here. Nice.

Have a great and successful week, my friends.

I'd be very proud if I have one of those classic rusty trucks as well. This thing just oozes sentimental value.

'Not older, just better' :-)

This is a wonderful post and i think the things found there are kind of old stuffs as said. Nice pictures. Keep up the spirit.

I love that pickup truck... it has such a nice patina on the surface of the hood! What a great walk... beautiful river shots, apple blossoms, beaver's handiwork and a stunning sunset! Nice that you threw in a purple wildflower from the home depot parking lot!!

I love that chevy truck also!

That means a lot coming from a ford guy!

I like a lot of different vehicles. My favorite is the muscle car years of the 1960's. I had a 66 GMC pick up when I was in my 20's I loved it 292 with a 3 on the tree.
I now drive a 2016 Tacoma which has been a nice truck also.

Ha ha that's cool.

Edmonton River is indeed looking very beautiful indeed. The view does indeed looks fascinating. The image of the apple tree is indeed looking very nice.

At 9 pm this scene would be very rare in my country.

Well I am as well have become quite a lover of Steemit ;)

the car is very beautiful and nice my friend really like mobilan car like that, even though the car friend postingan on this night already damaged a little but in my eyes car that you postingkan at night is very beautiful and nice, i new comrade comrade, always success

Great shots and a nice walk. I like that plate, I should get it put on a tee shirt lol. I hope it is true. This growing older aint easy. Im fighting it.

Tell me about that.

The best thing of your post is, the beauty effect in your pictures and particularly this post is reflecting the pure effect of natural beauty and in my opinion you taken right decisions to stop on these places to capture some of the best pictures. But, literally speaking the add on effect of this post is, the old vehicle which literally have the old antique essence. Thanks for sharing this post with us and wishing you an great day. Stay blessed. 🙂

great article, I'm very happy to read it.
there are two things I do not understand.
first, what is the meaning of this sentence.
"Edmonton River Walley. It needs another month to show it's true value I think"
second, is it beaver
who cut the tree. and for what he did?

Absolutely love that old truck. I know it is a rusted ole clincher now but it had its glory days. I have always thought it would be fun to have an old truck like that restored to its prime. I love seeing them at the antique car show we have in town here.
The cityscape looks really cool. It makes Edmonton look a lot smaller than it really is. I’ll get there eventually.

Just saw your kind upvote on my recent post and that reminded me, that I haven't been here on your blog for a while.. so thank you for the friendly "reminder". Its really time that I check what you are up to these days ;-)

Ahh, thank god winter is over. Here we already had a few really nice and hot days, like summer. Very unusual for this part of the world. But I enjoyed every minute.

Looks like you had a nice walk there. The river looks exactly like the one we have here. Lots of people kayaking too. And we even got beavers as well. Its hard to believe, what they can do..

Wishing you a great week as well!

Fotografije, jednostavno sjajne. Hvala vam @oldtimer što ste podelili svoje trenutke.

I am loving the longer days, too! And you are not alone being addicted to Steemit. I love being here, too. Great selection of photos today, my friend!

Lots of lovely photographs here @oldtimer but I particularly like that old car. I don't think you'd be allowed to drive that in the UK. It would most likely fail it's MOT (roadworthy test). 😁

Beautiful photographs!!! good job it´s amazing!!!

Wow this is beautiful. Oh my, that old pick up truck is a beaut! . Lovely blossom on that tree, whatever it is . I have always loved walking along rivers. It’s more tricky here in the jungle and one has to walk up the river itself rather than the riverbank as the jungle is too dense and full of snakes. Back in my days in Europe though river bank walking was a tremendous joy. It would be awesome to see beavers... maybe they are only around sunset and sunrise ? Like so much wildlife. Thanks for sharing this lovely countryside and water. Oh happy days!

woo, sineramente very good pictures, I really liked these, what are they called?

All of them are beautiful. Time to relax :)

Read your blog during my first coffee. Good pictures!

I am also very opiate with the steemit platform. Almost every time I open it. I am also very impressed with the results of your portrait. Good luck always for you @oldtimer.

You have great photography skills , And I really like the rusty car and nature photos.

###Not older just better
That truck sure is a beauty to me and would be proud if i own one @oldtimer You brought again some nice scenery from canada, such a beautiful place from kind and beautiful people.

I like the river, but I really like the rusty old truck!
