Woodcraft

in photography •  6 years ago  (edited)

In the modern era, everything is made of plastic, steel or glass. We slowly replaced wood and we don't use it even for heating anymore.

There are still some people left who like to work with wood, and these people have become true artists.

One of them was from the neighboring province of Saskatchewan. He took an 8-hour drive to put his work on display and on sale in the hall at K-Days festival in Edmonton.

50 bucks is a good price for the grizzly bear.

Imagine your steemit name carved into the chair.

This table with four chairs was sold.

2000 CAD was the price tag.

Look at the colors of the wood.

I took the shot of his chandelier in the mining office in the old gold mine on K-days.

We have a rainy day at 16 degrees Celsius but I don't care too much, because in just a couple of days and I'm leaving.

Don't waste your Saturday, my friends.

Carving my Steemit name into that chair might have a too negative impact I think ...

Beautiful work. If I was capable of such things, I think I'd have a hard time parting with them. I admire those who can create such fantastic things.

Thank you for posting. Impressive and creative woodworking from "true artists". That dinner room table/chairs and chandelier! Here is my recent purchase (the coasters) from a creative young woodworker (and street artist) here in LA called nickynailedit; who also is traveling to Barcelona this month. I showed him your blogs (maybe Casa Batllo and others) as he was not aware of the level of wood craftsmanship there.

Nice.

Hello how are you? a beautiful exhibition, those who work wood are true artists create with their hands and tools great images that we can feel
Greetings from Venezuela

Thank you for the comment.

I love wood carvings. Every time I go to Jamaica I make it my duty to come back with a nice, new piece for my home. Wood craftsmen are everywhere down there, most of them make their living doing so. Very cool

Wood is warm and perfect for home decoration. Sometimes at the border crossing, it's not allowed to bring wood into Canada.

Yes, I agree. Wood gives the home a nice, natural feel with a sense of relaxation, too. Why is it that they don't allow wood across the border into Canada, any specific reasoning ??

Aloha🍍 i found your post from just trolling the art feed.. seen your wood bear and thought..wow that must have taken some time to carve🧡. I love handmade crafts and always support 100% . I too am a crafter and know that it can be very hard to get what you deserve for your time. Thank you for sharing 💛

Hello friend, the art of joinery, is very broad and beautiful and perhaps depending on the climate and culture of each country is given the importance required here in Venezuela is fashionable wood, there are entire villages that are dedicated to build from a toy to an elephant in wood, I also imagine that because it is an investment that lasts for years and if the proper maintenance is done they are kept in very good condition. For sample you sent this photo. Your excellent publication good shots thank you for sharing and great support. @oldtimer

You're welcome.

Thank you for reminding me of my grandfather with your text and photos! He was the best carpenter of his time in the society he lived in. Looking into your presentation of occupation that he was in to make me remember how precious he was...

You're welcome. I'm glad to hear that.

Fancy things. I like the birdhouse, but bear would be cool to. To scare the burglars :-)

howdy this fine Saturday @oldtimer! wow, I could not have left that place without buying something, did you?

I was lucky to save some money because my visit was on the fifth day of the exhibition and most of the items were already sold.
But I took their business card, hehe.

yes sir I don't blame you! well with those one of a kind works of art it's like an investment and so unique because there ain't nothing else like them, I think those are good buys.

The grizzly looks great, also the table and the chairs.
You're right nearly everything that was made out of wood years ago is now made out of plastic. And if it is no fully plastic, it is wood with a plastic coating.

16 degrees Celsius? That would great here, so I would have the chance to cool down a little bit. :-D

Wow these are magnificent pieces carved out of wood. In India we also have many such talented artists.

Wood is still a valuable material for the artists all over the world.

this is great photography and great art

Amazing artworks in wood @oldtimer

Thanks for sharing such a beautiful art of carving

Feel free and visit my pages and enjoy my music

Thank you for the comment.

wuao wonderful exhibition of carved wood, those who make this incredible work without a doubt that are true artists all to hand is fabulous, here in Venezuela work a lot have an amazing skill with their hands

It's kind of international skill.

That Adirondack chair is epic!!! I would love to have two of those on my deck. We have a wood carving competition every year at the carp fair and it is amazing to watch what these artists can create with a chainsaw and some wood tools.

Amazing wood work. Wow! Great job ☺

Really the collection of wood looks different and beautiful great job and beautiful photography. thanks for sharing with us.

Stunning area! the best and maximum beautiful things inside the global cannot be seen or maybe touched - they have to be felt with the coronary heart. the vicinity is incredible, and the photos are the first rate.

Nice artworks. Resteemed :-)

Its a great work,.. I enjoy watching it a lot <3

I noticed that that the carved horse is very detailed, so very talented artist made that. The bird house seems it will really last. The tables and chair as well as the the other wood works have a think wood amounts into them as well as the style really is impressive.

I can not believe that so many beautiful things are made of humans. I want to thank you so much for giving us pictures of such beautiful things. thanks to @oldtimer

Mannnn that punisher chair looks DOPE!!

The horse looks insane! It must take such a long time to carve these things..

These are awesome pieces. Woodworking is a seemingly forgotten skill, and that's a shame. Nice post.

it is not 50 buck its 4.99. btw very beautiful art!!

It's 49.99 believe me, and we don't use 1 cent coins anymore so it's 50.

Nice wood work. Thanks for sharing.

Stunning .. brilliant, super, great.
Travel is a lively col.lege, suitable for you
Well performed on the images .. for extra creativity.

Wow, the wood crafting looks really good! I think we should all go back to use wood and other materials from nature instead of plastic ... And the movement is growing ! I see it for example in kid's toys. Many parents and kindergartens in Germany ditch plastic toys completely, what I am very happy about.

Is it a convention of replicas of all kinds of wood? The Punisher's chair and the statue of the horse were the most called my attention they look amazing! I would love to be there and see more closely the other things
