Why do you live in Greece, @onceuponatime?

Why do I live in Greece?

you ask, politely

.

Sunset2IMG_20171226_1703399.jpg

After all, I could walk into a store,

pretty well anywhere in the world,

.

Sunset1IMG_20171226_1703256.jpg

and grab myself a bottle of ouzo

and some feta cheese

.

Sunset3IMG_20171226_1703316.jpg

But, would I see this,

almost every evening,

looking out from my apartment balcony?

Behold:

Can I steal that?

Suddenly, everyone on Steemit wants to visit Greece. I didn't realize how beautiful it was there!

And the beauty is much more than skin deep :-)

I think nothing is better than open the window (or stay in the balcony ^^) watching that view. Relaxing, peaceful, I know Greece is a wonderful land. ^^

My soul breathes deeply every time I look out the window!

I can image, looking these pics (especially the last one that looks like really an artwork!) I think you're really a lucky man who found the perfect place for his soul!

I guess your hard work has finally caught up with luck

I don't trust Luck! Sometimes she smiles to your face while stabbing you in the back :-)

Great photography indeed. Such a view from balcony would be marvelous.

I was wondering what happened to my state of mind :-)

Love it! 😄

Looks like some very good reasons to be in Greece. Congratulations and I'm glad it is all working out for you.

Thanks Terry!

Ahan loved to read this blog .beauriful greece @onceuponatime

No arguing with that view!

What are you doing up so late/early?

And yup, I wouldn't even attempt an argument with that view because I know it would win every time!

I'm nocturnal like an owl, don't you know! 🦉
Twit twoo, merry Christmas to yooou!

twit twoo, a merry note!

I wonder, have you been around Greece yet, or not?
:) Loutraki is a good place, not city not province bit near to everything...

I have hardly explored Greece at all yet. Just parts of Athens and Loutraki and a few surrounding areas. I hope to buy a car soon and start off on many an adventure!

Be ready for spring time...
If you like Greece once by now, you will love it a thousand times after you start seeing it.
Have a perfect time!

Ahhhhhhhhmazing view!!!
I would bet the feta is betta in Greece as well.

Even through my jaded old eyes it's an amzing view!

It certainly is refreshing! Is it warm there?

It's not near as warm as it was a few months ago!. You must come for a visit and get me started yoga-ing to warm up.

It would be my pleasure!!

with this I have to be busybody about the weather.

OK, seems quite nice but maybe need a brolly tomorrow :-)

You are not the first fly that I have caught in my ointment :-)

OK, you got me lost on that one.

In English, the phrase fly in the ointment is an idiomatic expression for a drawback, especially one that was not at first apparent, e.g.

We had a cookstove, beans, and plates; the fly in the ointment was the lack of a can opener.
The likely source is a phrase in the King James Bible:[1]

Dead flies cause the ointment of the apothecary to send forth a stinking savour. (Ecclesiastes 10:1)
For five centuries, 'a fly in the ointment' has meant a small defect that spoils something valuable or is a source of annoyance. The modern version thus suggests that something unpleasant may come or has come to light in a proposition or condition that is almost too pleasing; that there is something wrong hidden, unexpected somewhere.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fly_in_the_ointment

Thanks for the explanation. So, sort of minor issue that result in imperfection

Looks interesting and beautiful place ! Truly beautiful photography !! Refreshing view from your balcony !!👍

I'm a 21 year old college student who was blessed enough to live in Florida nearly my entire life. As the scenery and weather is amazing here, I'm having difficulties declaring on an exact location to pursue a career. Greece has officially been added to the list! Thanks for the post!

This is my why I would live in Greece:

It’s always great when you can stop and appreciate the beauty of nature around you. I could never imagen living in a large city of skyscrapers with their endless noise of building more and traffic.

That looks like an amazing sunset to a perfect day or just a great stress reliever along with that bottle of some holiday sprit. Looks like a great place to retire to one day.

Well, I lived here for a while (in Athens). It wasn't too bad :-)

HotelKastriIMG_20170428_0819311.jpg

The sea...
What would have been of us if it wasn't for the sea and the reflections of the sun and the moon over her body?
My balcony view is the snowy top of Mount Olympus, I get to say good morning to Zeus every day :P

Mountains are my first love!

Then we'll be waiting for you to visit Olympus in the summer! There are some amazing spots up there I'm pretty sure you're gonna love! :)

Beholdddd wow the last shot i can stare at this view the whole day long :D

so at the end the real question is ''why anyone shouldn't live in Greece?''

By the way I didn't know you live in Greece! The view from your balcony is amazing sea, mountains and sun what else you need? ah i know Ouzo! :P

You didn't know I lived in Greece? I was going to tell you, but I guess I forgot :-)

don't let that happen again :P

You have lots of much better places to visit than Loutraki and Athens..Much better places..But you need to get a car first. There is no decent public transport in this country.

Yes, I am already pondering the buying of a car.

Surreal and spectacular photography just beautiful !

For the sake of this kind of windows, you can sacrifice much. It is priceless. Good luck to you and good.

Ради такого вида с окна можно многим пожертвовать. Он бесценен. Удачи Вам и добра.

This is true for all the beaches in the world and I also read that Greek beaches are special ones:

Steem On!

Wow... I think we need to come for a visit....

I don't blame you at all!

We know the answer by seeing those pictures, the ilive ook, the ouzo, the cheese will taste so much better when this is the view while eating the delicious greek specialities.

Greece is maybe a small country but has a huge history! Beautiful islands and tastefull food, friendly people and wonderful seas... Greece combines sea and mountain, history and technology, good food and entertainment! Greece has lakes, rivers, seas, mountains, plains and of course islands... Greece is blue. Greece is green. Greece is purple. Greece is red. Greece is everything, is the country in which everything began. And finally Greece combines all the other countries, because in Greece you can meet... The world!

I didn't need convincing! Looks amazing!

My Grandfather was born and raised in Greece...
His Family owned an Olive Grove...
Greetings from COIN MAN...

@pocketechange

Beautiful. And you’re right - you certainly can’t buy those stunning views anywhere. A tad jealous. I’ve only been to Greece once (Santorini) and it was just incredible. Must explore more of Greece.

@onceuponatime,
Whatever we get not a matter, the best is whatever we see which could make inner peace and relax our mid from stressful life! You got it and you got the money to make your life easier! What else we need! This is life!

Cheers~

The atmosphere of the beautiful sky view @onceuponatime, I also collect some sunset pictures.

Wow... these pictures are absolutely STUNNING!!
Greece truly is beautiful and I wish to return some day.
Thanks for sharing!

Great pictures! I need to get my passport so I can visit some places I've been wanting to go.

For the sake of this it is worth staying in Greece, I understand you.

That's only one of the reasons. there are a whole lot more!

Amazing view. I have been in Greece( Island Crete) on vacation and it was awesome.

Looks amazing! I can't wait to visit Greece, since I am a fan of such amazing views!

I can say with certainty that you are lucky to live in such a picturesque place as this. You have made the right choice, because to live in such a place, it means to be charged with special energy.
the sea and in the background the sun setting out for the mountains - it makes you think that everything is still ahead and this is a great feeling.
I appreciate such places for their peculiar atmosphere. Although the photographs on 100% can be seen that the place is calm and peaceful.
Thank you for giving us our pleasure.

Who would know of it?
if not for you who would show,
Who would hear of it?
if not for you who would tell,

Who would tell the difference?
if not for you who has compared,
Who would believe?
if not for you who would testify

Greece is very beautiful country 😍😍 it's one more my dream to visit:) I'm sea addicted and it's very hard for me to live so far away from it 😭😭😭😭😭

Nature photo

Fantastic and great photography , god bless you. Keep it up.

Holy smokes loved the creativity

Very calm captures

Ever since I was a 6th grader, I've been listening to stories about Greek philosophers. They seemed to me very interesting stories and this used to be the best class during my school time...even Mondays felt good just because of this. I've not been much into book reading but Greek philosophy and mythology has been of keen interest to me. I never knew Greek beaches would become another interesting topic to me. What else is Greece famous for?

" What else is Greece famous for?"

Greece is now famous for one of its newest residents.......ME :-)

Oh that's true @onceuponatime. Can I take a chunk of your fame or being a resident of Greece is required to do so? :)

Well, when I look at your blog, all I see is resteems. I guess it wouldn't matter where you are resident, the people who do the work get the fame.

Hi @onceuponatime,

The beautiful pics you shared from your balcony shows how plain and beautiful place it is to live.
I have many other points in my mind which shows why one should live in this paradise called GREECE
1-Temple of Olympian Zeus
2- Temple of Poseidon at Sounion
3- Temple of Zeus at Cyrene
4- Erechtheum
5- Temple of Apollo Epicurius
6- Doric Temple of Segesta
7- Paestum
8- Temple of Hephaestus
9- Valley of the Temples
10- Parthenon, Acropolis

After knowing these 10 big points one simple can leave Heavens for this beautiful place.

Your love with nature is breath taking and off-course result of Blackberry Priv is awesome as well.

Stay Blessed always :))

very beautiful results from the camera. I like it very much.

You have posted some very nice photos on the sunset so much that you have locked the camera. Amar seems to be the most beautiful atmosphere in Greece.

much pretty place , relax to seen @onceuponatime

Understandable with a view like that. I've spent a fair bit of time in beautiful places and have yet to grow bored of watching and photographing sunsets – somehow, each and every one is unique. Costa Rica, South America, Bali, New Zealand – nightly sunset ritual, on the beach whenever/wherever possible. I can't say I've ever been to Greece, but I suspect I'd do the same there.

Very beautiful and peaceful capture taken by you in Greece, thanks for it

is this what heaven looks like wow fantastic

@onceuponatime Wow beautiful. Is it Loutraki?

It is.

I used to drive there very often when I felt like enjoying some fresh seafood and good quality ouzo 😉 You made me nostalgic @onceuponatime

You are in Greece with sea beach bright attitude, very nice position to thank you for sharing among us

Interesting that you upvote your comment but not my post :-)
Oh, well. I guess you've got your reasons LOL

Welcome to Greece once again :)

@onceuponatime The holiday season is the perfect to reach out to people when happiness and good times are in the air. I wish that your holidays will find you among warm family and good friends, sharing and creating new memories. Have a great time in Greece and hope we get to meet in person and maybe have some ouzo. It will be my pleasure.
i have followed you, so follow me back please, if you so desire.

you balcony is the best place to hangout

Near ever where ever you are but this is the best post so far !

I'm dreaming to come there

very different post so amazing

this is the view you living life

wooow very nice photography

I am with you on the Greece thing. What I am not with you on is the ouzo thing. It tastes like black liquorish which is horrid tasting to me.

But dear sir, this holiday season, we all benefit.. Henry Ford has re-appeared... to change our lives forever. I wrote it about that Christmas Eve without realizing the importance of what I was going to do..

Don't vote it, just read it.

It's past Christmas now, but I'd still like to say Merry Christmas to you.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I almost feel like I can live part of your life (which I can't) when you share these things. I feel like I am able to watch and experience where you've been and where you are going... and that is an opportunity you share that allows people like myself to have a taste of the good life through you.

I wish you the best in 2018

...and to thank you a different way, you've used your wealth to truly help some real projects grow and become something. You're the type of crypto whale that people could learn and adopt how you act. While profit is always important in your books... you believe in helping and shaving off some of it to help real good projects. I've seen it, and that's why I treasure what you do and who you are.

Enjoy your holidays. You deserve it.

Interesting that you upvoted your comment, but not my post LOL

It is interesting. I made a mistake and reversed it. :) Glad you pointed it out.

muy buenas las fotos el paisaje se ve genial

yeah, this is the best..
