Every time I see an amazing photo, I always think to myself.. hm, I wonder what it was like to take these pictures? I mean as a content creator I know for a fact that there is a story behind that picture or that video. Not only am I interested in the photo itself, but I’m interested in the making of that photo as well. I am really proud of the pictures that I took that night, the one above being one of them. If you didn’t see the album you can find it here.
I Used A Tripod!
A tripod is super necessary when taking long exposure shots. To take the picture above this is what my set up looked like. As you can see, without long exposure you fail to get the small find details and amazing lighting.
The Settings
When doing night time photography the settings you set your camera to, I would say, is the most important thing. I feel that this is also the most interesting as well, I love knowing what settings others use and how they accomplish their shots. For the picture above these were my settings:
Shutter Speed: 20”
ISO 100
F/22
Timer
If you don’t have a tripod at that moment, you can set your camera down on a flat surface, and set your camera on a two second timer. This will help keeping your camera steady while its taking the photo, any minimal shake can distort the photo. And if you have a tripod, well then this is a great way to perfect your shot! This is what the photo looked like after I edited it in light room:
Shutter Speed: 30”
ISO 100
F/22
I hope this helped put how I accomplished these shots into perspective. I am no photography expert, I have only been doing this for a short amount of time! However, I learned by watching a lot of youtube videos and researching photography and camera settings. Let me know if you have any other questions in the comments below, I will be happy to answer them. A special thanks to @toresto for asking these questions when I posted my picture!

Credit where credit is due! I love seeing your work and the whole process behind it. Makes me want to get out and create even more!
I actually prefer the editing side of photography more than anything, but when you line it all up and take an awesome shot, it's such an awesome feeling.
I need to get out and shoot more for sure, maybe send me a challenge and then I'll have to do it!
