I live and work in a popular little Colorado town called Manitou Springs. It's a lovely place with about 5,000 people who call this lovely place home. Lots of hiking trails in and nearby the city. The world-famous Garden of the Gods is literally next to Manitou Springs. Pikes Peak. The Manitou Incline. Cave of the Winds. And so much more!
But I especially love late summer and early autumn mornings when the air is slightly brisk with the sweet smell of recent rainfall permeating the air. Every now and then, you can see a bear prowl through the streets though you'll have to stay up all night or get up very early in the morning.
In the meantime, I took this picture this morning of downtown Manitou Springs. It was perfectly cool and overcast; a stark contrast to what we've had this long and hot summer.
This is my favorite time of year. What's yours?
