THE WORM SNAKE!!!

in photography •  7 years ago

These guys look like a cross between a coelacanth and a worm... and a snake...

Or maybe a slug-go fishing lure. Anyway, for a crazy cool snake that lives underground, these guys are incredible. We actually find quite a few of them down here in the Ozarks, and this one was captured by the eldest son of @bluerthangreen & @allforthegood. Since they dwell underground, these photos were not exactly taken in their "natural habitat," but they should give you a good idea of what this incredible snake looks like. Enjoy the photos.

THE EASTERN WORM SNAKE

As always, I'm @papa-pepper and here's the proof:

This one is small and amzing to be near by.
Nice color too.
Snakes tend to be in your area a lot lately.
Keep on steemin'

Yeah, a lot of snakes are coming out around this time of year here.

Wow, quite a few species in your neck of the woods. We only have a few around here; Gartner Snake, Milk Snake, Green Snake, Water Snake and the only venomous one, the Massasauga Rattler(unfortunately very rare). Like seeing the wild life in other areas. See what I can do this summer to show some of our local surpentes

yeah, we had two rattlers up in Wisconsin, but they were rare too and I never saw any. That Milk Snake sounds nice though, I'd love to see one of those in the wild!

If I find one this summer I'll definitely post. Couldn't believe how small the worm Snake was... See what slithers along this year up here... Snow is finally gone. Spring has sprung or at least it's coming :-).

This great anture photography i like it..thanks for sharing this animal..

Cool! I'm glad that you liked it!

Woww, this is so cool, ta Looks amused, this is a very beautiful snake.

incredible post
excellent image capture
keep the good work on

What is your favorite snake of all time?

Wow.... not sure... Perhaps the Eastern Hognose... right now though, it's the Speckled Kingsnake, although I'm really appreciating the Scarlet Snake that @mama-pepper and the @little-peppers caught me.... but the venomous ones will always have a special place in my heart, like the Pygmy Rattlesnake....

What's yours?

Man I am a novice we don’t have that many different snakes in CA (or at least that i am aware of. Just a few king snakes, gopher and Gardner snakes. And of course a lot of rattlers . Eastern Hognose.... I like the sound of that. Maybe that will be the name of my next (first) band .... Eastern Hognose opening for White Snake!

First venomous snake of the year for me!

Whoa!!!!

LOL!

Cool little snake!

They sure are!

Waao i never saw something like that before,

It's looks really deferent and i love you Photography work with this special species,😅😅

Thanks for sharing @papa-pepper i leaned something new today.

Looks like the "friendliest" among the bunch! 😄

Yeah, that could be true.

they are not poisonous? so small

Not poisonous, or even venomous.

Kool guy!

Kai! @papa-pepper is that these things don't bite you or what, that you always take hold of them the way you do!?

Be careful with them please!

@eurogee of @euronation community

These don't bite.

Oh really... Even at that, I wouldn't near it. You got a Lotta liver, Papa!

Its dangerous to us or not mr @papa-pepper?

Not even close to dangerous. Completely harmless in my opinion.

How impressive that friend and more impressive image is as you zoom in on the image and you can clearly see every detail of the image I've even more hope you've spent an incredible Sunday a hug from Venezuela for you

Did you keep it as a pet?

I honestly don't think I would ever let it go. I've always liked and been mortified by snakes, but this seems like the perfect balance. Like what a Bond villain would get for his kid's birthday 😁

P.S. Your camera is to die for 😅.

Cool! Looks like what we call a slow worm in the UK they can often be found hiding in the compost heaps because of the warmth given off 👍

Ain't this creature dangerous? I mean, does it bite?
Also, is this the size at maturity or is this the baby?
It looks cool though. I'm sure it already has biological name; if not, I would call it "papapeppus reptillius" :D I'm kidding.

Nice photography buddy

I don't think these even could bite.... tiny mouths....

It's smiling! :D

@papa-pepper,, You make me scared and ridiculous .. But this is an interesting post!! very amazing...

Love these photos. I've never seen one of those before.

Oh my gooosh! It look really scary. It reminds me of the snake that went inside my room the last month.

Nice looking little snake! Love his colours. We found a tan racer crossing our yard yesterday. Didn't think quick enough for a photo...

Nooooooooooo, it's scary 😖

It looks like a nice and bright snake. Is it not poisonous?

No, not that one.... but this one below is!

Seems poisonous 😩

Nope, not venomous at all.

Looks scary 😥

Yeah, that could be it. I always like to say that "you never know what you're going to find, but you find more when you look."

Yeah, I thought that I had followed you, along with some others that I'm sure I did a while ago, but now it said that I am not following any of you.... not sure what happened. I was just checking out your most recent post.
