A hidden gem where the mountains meet the sea!
We saw this secluded little caravan park on the way past to view a penguin colony and decided to stop to have a look on our way back!
This post is also entered in #wednesdaywalk hosted by the kind #tattoodjay
The post about the penguins is on my blog, but here I want to show you some more of nature's beauty.
The caravan park was deserted as it is out of the holiday season and a guard at the gate waved us in.
Come and have a look!
The lovely view below greeted us and we had to walk towards the right hand side to get a view of the ocean pool!
The rocks in the sea offered us some great views of some of the many Terns at this place!
Terns are seabirds for those that do not know!
Now watch the action here below. There's a bird at the front of that rock as the wave came in!
Bang! I saw him scatter and was almost too late to get him (top right)!
His escape timing was excellent and it's a pity that I could not get him closer to the breaking wave. Terns are very fast birds!
Here is the front corner of the pool that we saw from the mountain pass road (Picture no.2)!
And here is a sandy part of the beach at the left part of the pool!
Yeah it was getting late in the afternoon, but I really wanted to get some more action shots.
But then this happened below and as all of the birds left, we also left!
A small bus appeared, blankets were laid out, music started blaring and about 2O people were preparing for a feast.
A few guys were quick to hit the water and of course that was the end of our excursion!
Thankfully more beauty was waiting for us as we got home. This is what our driveway looked like!
A beautiful tapestry of colored clouds here!
And a late plane as a sign that we were flying into lockdown hahaha!
And That's All Folks!
Sure enough, we have some stunning places here in this paradise and the great news is that the lockdown restrictions will drop from level 5 to level 4 this Friday. The first thing that we are going to do is to take our little dog, Troy, for a long walk at the mountain river.
Amazing how a long period of lockdown can turn one into a freedom freak Lol.
It is planned that the economy will be gradually restarted with the most essential businesses first, then it will move to stage 3 and more relaxations and so on until we reach level 0.
Winter is here and Papillon needs to buy as many blankets as we can for our "Distribution Project" and we will also have to source some staple food packs in a hurry.
The great thing is that we can get going again, so wish us luck, as I am sure that the needs are going to be multiplied.
