Early this morning the Crows invaded the tree of the small birds! The small birds wait in this tree every day for us to fill the feeders with wild bird seeds and then they come down to eat!
This morning for the first time since we moved in here two years ago, a family of crows decided to stamp their authority by claiming the tree!
But let me show you a story about bravery!
This is an African Flame tree and here you can see many small birds and a few doves waiting for breakfast!
And here you can see the family of 3 crows that invaded the tree! If you look closely below the second crow in the middle, you will see a female Loerie bird sitting with her back towards us!
Cometh the hour, cometh the man! Here is our hero! The male Loerie came to sit on our carport roof looking at the tree!
Loerie birds are harmless and they are not aggressive, or fighters! But this Loerie surprised us with his fighting spirit and with his wisdom!
The male Loerie flew at speed towards the tree and he did the unexpected! He flew straight into the male leader of the crow family! I was too late to snap the actual hit, but here you can see the crow and also his family scatter from the tree, with the Loerie at the top, flying on after the hit!!
Peace was restored and the crows returned to their own morning seat on top of the high tree! The little birds all returned and they also came to eat!
Almost a David and Goliath story isn't it?
One peace loving Loerie against three fighter crows!
One thing that I was forced to learn early in my life was to always go for the leader, the one with the loudest mouth!
I was raised as a single parent child and bullies always saw me as easy meat because I didn't have a father!
My mom was a wise women and after I suffered a few beatings in the grades at school, she registered me in a boxing academy! The trainer was one of the famous Toweel boxing family and he became an absent father to me. I am not one to boast, but soon I learn't how to handle myself and I have never since looked back! Needless to say after I beat a couple of antagonists in the school, everyone started avoiding me! I continued at the academy for 8 years!
Many little guys became my friends and no one at school would bully them. Sadly I cannot say the same for their parents and even I had to take my hidings at home! Not a bad thing as it made me what I am today!
The focus of this story is that it takes only one guy to stop bullying in its tracks! It needn't even be the strongest of guys, but wisdom has always beaten stupidity. As this picture story reflects!
Forgive me for my hatred of bullies, but I know how it feels to be cornered by group of cowards and to be beaten mercilessly! Talking peace to them by the teachers and reprimanding them doesn't work, as they simply wait for you after school and the beatings continue! Each of us has to fight our own battles and the male Loerie is a perfect example of this! I don't think the crows will return to the small birds tree!
