0.86 cents for my last post! This "Painted Lady" Papillon (Butterfly) cries with me.
Oh yes, we work hard to place authentic posts on steemit, all with only original content. But it seems that life here is the same as in our charity world. Always a struggle for survival even if our performances are amazing.
But life goes on!

A Sacred Ibis in flight!
And finally, this shot was taken at a huge distance, but it spoke to me, seven birds on each side and one in the middle. It seems that the white Egret in the middle is dividing the two Hadeda Ibis families in the tree.
Be it as it may, I am not complaining even now after a year on steemit and I think our highest amount of votes on a post is in the region of about 50 votes. We try our best not to miss a day with a post, apart from a few days due to a serious health issue and even now, after the event, we continue to post every day.
Like I said, it's the same in the charity world. The big names with plenty of money to advertise get almost all of the donations and the little charities have to fight over the crumbs.
Fairness is a big issue in our teachings to the poor and how can it be fair if a post with one photo gets 300 votes and a post with many more photos gets only a few cents? Do you see the correlation here? Money talks and those without will always struggle, even if their efforts are superior to the ones that have. Take note that there is no bitterness here, only the facts of life. I am afraid that even if we were to work harder, it will not be the solution.
Any ideas apart from buying ourselves out of this struggle?

First up: Awesome pics... as always!
Re the declining $payout value of posts: Well... the good news is that right now is the best time to be collecting SP. Each post (assuming it gets the same number of votes) is getting the same resulting SP and STEEM rewarded as when STEEM was at $5 (as long as SBD is not paid out too)... we can chat on discord if you're keen on the math... but long story short: Keep up the posts. With fewer people posting, those of us that are are actually scooping up more SP (even though it's technically worth less USD/Rands/whatever fiat). If/WHEN it recovers, we'll be sitting pretty.
Re getting more votes: I disagree with @steevc re bid-bots, but I really do understand both sides of the argument... so let's not get into that now. They DO work, but if you're opposed to them, there are other options (aka "programmes").
and many many more... Actually I think I should probably right a post about it and call for more examples... I'm sure I don't know about 1/10th of them.
Anyway... chin up, things will get better... and even if they don't, you'll have made some cool new friends.

I agree with @steevc, enter some photo competitions, your images are beautiful! I love the depth of field on the first one! Check out the #Photocircle tag and #pc-animal, I think you will do well there! :) I have added a 100% UV from me too, but my vote isn't worth all that much. Every little helps though I guess! <3

Charity is battling in every region in South Africa, we are feeding people everyday arriving at our gate with peanut butter and syrup sandwiches, a piece of fruit (I am sure word gets out that you help those that are hungry), things are going from bad to worse.

I helped this post get a little more. I just don't have much voting power these days. Your posts are great, but it seems people are distracted by other things. Please don't go with buying votes. I think that's doing harm to Steemit. Work with those who share your interests. Enter some photo competitions. I think building the community is the best path.

@steevc thank you so much that we can depend on your kind heart. I will not buy votes, as I think it's totally unfair to so many others. South Africa is bordering on recession and our un-employment rates are of the highest in the world. There are what they call "lost generations", mostly people that we work with that's had no formal schooling. I had some great news yesterday, as Papillon was given 100 boxes of adult nappies and we will distribute them to many frail care centers for free of course. This is what makes me happy and I will do a post about it when we are done! Blessings!

Nobody has any power anymore. The reward pool is very small right now too. I like to write fiction but I'm not getting really much money for it anymore so it isn't worth spending 3 hours writing a story now. I know I still should just to continue for my own personal enjoyment.... but I've got to get paid so I can pay the rent, you know?

I would suggest breaking up the photos in to individual posts and maybe a photography contest as well. It may take a little more work but you can link all of them together as well and may see a little more reward along with separate tasks on @kryptonia
