I had the pleasure of a little family escape during the recent Australia Day long weekend. We decided to venture out to Phillip Island for two reasons - 1. We love the place and 2. Every other destination we wanted to go was booked out accommodation wise.
It was three days of hanging out with the kids and plenty of beaches. From the serenity of Cowes Beach to the wild waves at Woolamai - my kids got their beach fix and we all returned to Melbourne with a slightly darker shade of tan on our skin given the heat over the weekend.
But through it all, everyone knew that I had a Saturday sunset booked at The Pinnacles. This place is a 30-40 minute walk from the car park at Woolamai Beach. Once you get to your destination, there's a whole bunch of warning signs to keep out of the area due to unstable cliffs. And as "dad of the year" I decided to ignore the signs and took my kids down into the cove at The Pinnacles.
It's well worth the trip - and the risk - as once you get into the cove, you get smashed with the following scenes.
Hope you enjoy!
